Serving Our Communities

The goal of Trouble Spotters is to provide qualified speakers as a resource to their respective communities, often presenting to civic clubs and organizations, educating people of all ages how to better “spot trouble ‘before’ trouble spots you.” No matter where you live, in apartment or home, or in urban, suburban or rural areas, we are people on the move as are many of the members in such organizations.

These include such organizations as
Rotary International, Civitan, Kiwanis, Lion’s Club, Ambucks, Altrusa, Junior League, Junior Chambers of Commerce, Chambers of Commerce, and many others.

I was once speaking in a rural community
to one of their civic clubs when an older couple, sitting at the table with me, were so excited as they told me they were about to take their first trip outside of the U.S. to Europe. Regarding my upcoming presentation, they were talking about how glad they were that they didn’t have to worry about such safety concerns where “they” lived. I asked them, “Didn’t you ‘just’ tell me you are about to take your first trip outside of the country?” They responded yes, and in fact were going to be visiting some major cities throughout Europe. I just looked at them in silence as it dawned on them what I was implying. Even those who live in areas they perceive to be “safe” still travel in, to, and through areas that probably are not. What, then, if you do so unaware?

Some of these civic clubs and organizations
represent excellent audiences for our message, because they “ARE” involved in their communities, volunteering their time, talents, and service to others in sometimes questionable situations or locations, day and night. These are good, honest, hard-working citizens trying to make the world (or at least their part of it) a better place for themselves and others. Therefore they sometimes enter such environments and encounter such people with a little more naivety than might be healthy. We want good people to continue to be good people and do good things. After all, if they stop, “Who is left?!” But we want to empower them to be safe and savvy good citizens, living long lives to repeat and pass on their good deeds.

If you are a member or leader in such an organization
, we welcome the opportunity to address your group, teaching you and your members how to better “spot trouble ‘before’ trouble spots you”. Simply contact one of our licensed instructors for more information or to schedule a presentation.
